An important message from Optometry Giving Sight
I am writing to update you on some exciting changes that are occurring at Optometry Giving Sight.
At our Global Board Meeting in October, 2017, the Directors resolved to merge Optometry Giving Sight with the Brien Holden Vision Institute Foundation, with the aim of increasing our effectiveness and bringing together our resources to better serve communities around the world.
This merger comes as a natural development for our organization as the Brien Holden Vision Institute was one of our founding members 14 years ago.
We believe the merger also allows us to become more effective and gain the opportunity to maximize our resources around key program areas such as education and training for new and established Optometrists in emerging communities, child eye health programs as part of the Our Children’s Vision campaign, and advocacy activities with organizations including the World Council of Optometry and the International Agency for the Prevention of Blindness.
These programs and activities benefit millions of people who are needlessly blind or vision impaired simply because they can’t access an eye exam and glasses from a qualified optometrist.
We look forward to your continued support as we enter this exciting new phase of our development. To find further information about the merger and answers to some key questions, click here.
Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns regarding the above.
