Optometry Giving Sight Vision Source Donor Awards 2015

Optometry Giving Sight Vision Source Donor Awards 2015

Optometry Giving Sight is pleased to announce its Vision Source Donor Awards for 2015. The awards were presented at a Hoya sponsored function at the Vision Source Exchange meeting in Phoenix on May 1st.

Philanthropist of the Year – Dr. John McCall.

Optometry Giving Sight is delighted to make this award to John (pictured with CEO Clive Miller) in honor of his lifetime giving through the Chairman's Club. John has been a member of this elite group of donors since 2010 and his ongoing monthly donations have made a huge impact on the lives of people around the world – and specifically have helped our efforts to fund the establishment of schools of optometry and optometry programs in 9 countries. John also sits on the National Committee of Optometry Giving Sight, and is a fantastic advocate, particularly in relation to encouraging industry support.

Practice(s) of the Year – Alaska Vision Center, Lifetime Eyecare and Soldotna Optometry Clinic.

These practices are all long-time donors who also mobilize significant support from their patients as well as participating in our Circle of Sight monthly giving program, the World Sight Day Challenge, and / or the Chairman’s Club.  All practices have very invested staff members and this award recognizes their efforts as well.  We thought it was interesting they are all in Alaska - so this is kind of a state award as well. Dr. Elizabeth Hunt accepted the award on behalf of Lifetime Eyecare.  Dr Sarah Bixby-DuBois and Cori Olson represented Alaska Vision Center.

Outstanding World Sight Day Challenge Contribution – Member Support Center, Vision Source Kingwood.

Vision Source staff at their HQ in Texas took support for the World Sight Day Company Challenge to a new level in 2014. Members of the Executive team, including Glenn Ellisor, Jim Greenwood, Derek Artis, Bryan Pinciaro and Bret Davis, with great support and encouragement from Heather Suggitt, formed teams to see who could raise the most amount of money for Optometry Giving Sight. The result was a phenomenal $60,000 raised with Team Bryan taking out the top honors. We thank them sincerely for their efforts and look forward to seeing what they have planned for 2015!!

The Global Board, National Committee and staff of Optometry Giving Sight thank these and all our donors for their ongoing support. Together we are helping to transform lives through the gift of vision.
