Ethical brand giving sight in more ways than one

Optometry Giving Sight is excited to recognise the support of a new National Supporter Sponsor in the USA, Panda Sunglasses.

Panda, who produce high-end sunglasses handcrafted from sustainable bamboo, have been implementing a ‘buy one, give one’ program for the last year. For each purchase made, the company makes a donation to Optometry Giving Sight, to help someone receive an eye exam and pair of glasses.

Clive Miller, CEO of Optometry Giving Sight stressed the long-term impact these kind of programs can achieve.

“’Buy one, give one’ initiatives are a great example of sustainable fundraising, and a fantastic way for both companies and consumers to know that they are making a real contribution,” he said.

“Support of this nature, from companies like Panda, will help to ensure the longevity of Optometry Giving Sight funded projects.”

Panda founder, Vincent Ko said the company is excited by the potential of the partnership.

"We are proud to be part of Optometry Giving Sight’s initiatives to help spread the gift of vision around the world,” he said.

“Together, we know we can affects the lives of those in need."

Panda was launched in 2012, offering innovative sunglasses where the ethical, environmental and social impact of the products were just as important as the design. The company has received widespread coverage, including by The Huffington Post, Vogue, USA Today, The Washington Post and at the American Music Awards.
