World Sight Day Challenge Contests
Join us for the World Sight Day Challenge by participating in one of the contests outlined below! We’re thrilled to offer prizes to the top practice and student group for each contest. A special thank you to Dr. Greg Pearl for generously sponsoring this year’s contests.
Facebook and Instagram Thumbs-Up Throwdown
The Facebook and Instagram Thumbs-Up Throwdown is a friendly social media competition designed to encourage optometry practices and student groups across the U.S. and Canada to take part in Optometry Giving Sight’s 2025 World Sight Day Challenge—and to share their involvement via posts on Facebook and Instagram!
Show us how you’re making a difference. Post your photos, stories, and updates on Facebook and/or Instagram using the @optometrygivingsight tag, and rally your community to like and share your efforts.
The optometry practice and student group whose Facebook and Instagram posts generate the most “likes” between September 1 (12:01 a.m. ET) and October 31, 2025 (11:59 p.m. ET) will be designated as 2025 World Sight Day Champions and receive prize packages. Eligible posts must be public and must include the @optometrygivingsight tag. Posts that do not include the tag will not be counted toward the total. In the event of a tie, the winners will be determined by a random drawing.
By entering this contest, participants acknowledge that Facebook and Instagram are not sponsoring, endorsing, or associated with this promotion, and that they release Facebook and Instagram from liability associated with this contest.
